In a recent development it has come to light that the government of Equatorial Guinea has ordered severe crackdown and suspension of high ranking officials from government offices after explicit videos goes viral on the internet.

According to Reuters, the government of Equatorial Guinea eventually expressed concerns that these revelations have severely tarnished the image of the nation. While, in response to this scandal, Vice President Nguema Obiang Mangue made an announcement including new measures aimed at preventing such incidents and that included the installation of security cameras in all the government offices and far more increased security protocols.

The government of Equatorial Guinea announced that the officials identified in the videos will eventually face suspension though their names will not be disclosed, noted Reuters. At the same time, Equatorial Guinea government also reprimanded security personnel for failing to prevent such occurrences.
Reuters asserted that the scandal has eventually shaken the pretty long standing regime of President Teodoro Obiang who is ruling Equatorial Guinea for 40 years now. The government authorities are taking several steps to curb the distribution of the videos online while fearing further damage to the reputation of the country and internet traffic is disrupted to limit the access to such explicit content.
