On September 30, Disney-owned TV stations, which carry ABC programming and cable networks, like ESPN, FX Networks, Nat Geo, Freeform and Disney Channel, were unavailable on Dish and Sling TV due to a carriage dispute.

This brought another carriage deal towards expiration at the very end of September. No agreement has been made regarding the renewal of this deal.

Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution's statement

  • The statement by Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution addressing Dish and Sling TV said that Dish had declined to reach a fair and market-based agreement with Disney Networks.
  • It was also stated that Dish and Sling TV members have lost access to various sports, kids and entertainment programmes on Disney-owned TV stations, which also carry ABC programming and cable networks, like ESPN, FX Networks, Nat Geo, Freeform and Disney Channel.
  • The statement also said Disney Networks urged Dish and Sling TV to work with them to avoid disruption for its customers.
