Carly Rae Jepsen's new album 'The Loneliest Time' gets released

Carly Rae Jepsen joined host Zane Lowe earlier this week to discuss her new album, "The Loneliest Time," which is available now.
Throughout the interview, Carly Rae Jepsen spoke about her genuine love of pop songs, embracing a no-rules mindset while working on "The Loneliest Time," and adjusting her strategy to reach out to possible collaborators in the aftermath of Tom Hanks' presence in her music video, among other things.

She had a strong preference for pop music. She said that a good hook had an inherent allure for her. She was referring to The Spice Girls. It was like a heroin injection for her the instant she heard it. It's almost as if she was a Max Martin devotee to her. She adored pop music.


She was pleased with the writing. She enjoyed the turmoil of the situation. She stated that she could go into phrases about a female named Baby and Scary. That is a separate discussion. She said that she had previously been in love with the traveller.



And then she realised that, looking back on the song as she performed it live now, there are components of it that speak to her as a traveller as well. She mentioned how safe you feel in grief. On the open road, you feel protected. Go discover yourself or anything you want. She kind of forgot about it since it was late at night, and singing two songs in a day may lead your memory to play tricks on you.
