Cardi B, married to rapper Offset, welcomed baby with boyfriend Stefon Diggs; here’s how the rapper defended her pregnancy with the NFL star before finalization of her divorce

Cardi B, the Grammy-winning artist and rapper, has welcomed her fourth baby. She shares three children—Kulture, Wave, and Blossom—with her estranged husband, rapper Offset. The new addition is Cardi B's first child with her boyfriend, NFL star Stefon Diggs. Diggs is already a father to daughters Nova and Charliee.

The rapper’s marriage to Offset continues because their divorce is not yet final. She filed for divorce from Offset in July 2024, four years after her first filing in 2020, though it is yet to be finalized.

In September 2025, Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, claimed that she and Offset hadn't finalized their divorce yet due to financial reasons. During a livestream on X Spaces, the rapper spoke at length about why she is still married to Offset, despite having filed for divorce over a year ago. She also defended announcing her pregnancy with boyfriend Stefon Diggs while being legally married.


"The only reason why I'm still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes," Cardi B, 32, said during her livestream. She alluded to her marriage to the 33-year-old rapper.

"Y’all wanna know the tea? The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’mma fight for that. This is not no love s---. I’m not gonna stop living my life." she said.

In May 2025, nearly four months before Cardi B opened up about her divorce situation, TMZ reported that Offset filed an amended divorce response. He had asked for spousal support of no specific amount from the Grammy-winning artist and rapper, along with still asking for joint custody of their three children.

Cardi emphasized that she and her rapper husband are "legally separated." "On a contract, I'm practically still married, because somebody [wants to] hold me hostage if I don't give them millions of dollars to get out of it," she said, as quoted by PEOPLE.

The rapper couple started dating in 2017 and got married the same year. Their relationship had been on and off throughout while it lasted. The "I Like It" musician filed for divorce from Offset in 2020, retracted it and filed again in 2024.

How Cardi B defended her pregnancy with Diggs

While speaking about her pregnancy with the New England Patriot, Cardi B called out people who "make it seem like I got a hundred gazillion baby daddies," as quoted by PEOPLE. "I have three kids with one man that I married,” she added of Offset. "Yes, I'm having a baby with somebody else. So what? That happens, it's life," she added.

She also defended her pregnancy with Diggs while being legally married.
