Do you remember Michael Corleone in the blockbuster Mafia film, 'The Godfather' that was released in 1972? Best known for this mafia role, Al Pacino will once again play a similar role. He will portray Calabrian mafia boss Saro, who kidnaps the grandson of one of the world’s richest men, Jean Paul Getty. He puts the entire organization in danger when he falls in love with his victim’s mother during the ransom negotiations. How much interesting!

Katie Holmes, Toby Kebbell to join Al Pacino

According to 'Deadline', Katie Holmes, and Toby Kebbell will join Al Pacino in this upcoming thriller, named 'Captivated'.

People behind making of 'Captivated'

The kidnapping drama will be produced by Michael Benaroya, Michael Mammoliti, and Manasvi Mamgai of 32RED Entertainment, and Andrea Bucko of Sugar Rush Pictures. Dito Montiel will direct the film, and also co-write the script along with Robin Shushan and Michael Mammoliti. He has earlier directed films like 'Man Down' and 'Critical Thinking'.

Based on a true story

Kebbell will portray the young version of the mafia kingpin while Pacino will play the older one. Homes will play the woman with whom Al Pacino falls in love while negotiating the ransom.

'Captivated' is based on true events that happened in 1973. Michael Mammolti, nephew of Saro has been working on a story on the infamous crime for years. He remembers that his uncle developed amorous feelings towards his victim’s mother, Abigail Harris.

Joey Stanton and Nick de Graffenreid will be the executive producers of the film.

When filming will start?

Principal photography is most likely to begin this winter in Italy. IFT and 32RED Entertainment will finance the project alongside Sugar Rush Pictures.
