This decision comes shortly after the departure of former chairman-CEO Michelle Jubelirer, and coincides with Janick's recent promotion to oversee Universal Music Group's West Coast labels.
In addition to March's appointment, Lillia Parsa has been named co-president of CMG, alongside Arjun Pulijal, who will continue to focus on artist development. Parsa will collaborate closely with March to steer the company's creative direction and foster its growth, particularly through partnerships with artists and executive entrepreneurs. Both March and Parsa will be based in Los Angeles.
March brings nearly two decades of experience at Universal Music to his new role, having previously served as president of Geffen Records and co-president of Polydor Records in the UK. Under his leadership, Geffen Records achieved notable successes, including collaborations with artists like Olivia Rodrigo, HYBE (V and Jung Kook), Kali Uchis, and Yeat.
Parsa, previously a senior VP of A&R at Universal Music Publishing Group in New York, brings a wealth of industry knowledge and relationships to her new role. Her track record includes signings and collaborations with artists such as Renee Rapp, Ice Spice, Julia Michaels, Billy Walsh, and many others.
Janick expressed confidence in both March and Parsa, highlighting their talents and dedication to supporting artists. He stated, "I've worked closely with Tom for the better part of a decade... He is a passionate and savvy executive who is a relentless advocate for artists." Regarding Parsa, he added, "Lillia is a gifted creative executive with very strong relationships throughout our business... I'm excited for her to take on this key position at Capitol, working alongside Arjun to continue to build a powerful platform for Capitol Music Group."
