Canadian musician Feist quits Arcade Fire tour after accusations against lead singer Win Butler

Following accusations of sexual misconduct against Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler, Canadian singer-songwriter Feist cancelled her supporting role on the rock band's current tour.

The musician admitted that it had been "very difficult" to make the decision and that she had decided to separate herself from this tour (but) she was not separating from this conversation.

Leslie Feist, better known by her professional name Feist, said she realised she had to end the tour while performing on stage and hearing her songs repeatedly over those two nights at the 3 Arena in Dublin, where she had opened for Arcade Fire.




Additionally, she will contribute all merchandise profits from the performances to Women's Aid. Four people have accused Butler of sexual misconduct, which was first revealed on Saturday.

In the two comments made, Butler refuted the accusations and insisted that whatever sexual encounters he had with the four were voluntary. Recently, Arcade Fire started a significant European tour, and Feist opened the first two shows in Dublin on August 30 and August 31.

However, Leslie Feist, better known by her stage name Feist, indicated in an extensive social media statement that she was taking her duty now and going home.

They said that they had little time to prepare for what was about to happen, much less have an opportunity to choose not to fly into this predicament across the seas.

They said that they can only think how much more painful it must have been for the folks that came forward given how tough it has been for me. They said that they wanted people involved to get better more than anything."

According to Feist, the incident has sparked a discourse that is larger than him and also bigger than any of his songs. It was also surely greater than any rock and roll tour.

She said that she was claiming her responsibility and thus going home.
