Canadian siblings have been certified as the most premature twins in the world by Guinness, according to a BBC report. The brother and sister were born at 22 weeks.

The Canadian twins, Adiah and Adrial Nadarajah, were born at 126 days early as they overtook the previous record of 125 days. The previous record was held by twins in Iowa in the US.

Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto would not have attempted life-saving measures if the twins were born even one hour ahead of 22 weeks.

According to medical terms, 40 weeks are considered as a full-term pregnancy. This makes the twins 18 weeks premature.

The twins' parents live in Ontario and it was the mother's second pregnancy.

Adiah and Adrial are now one-year old. The twins are closely observed by doctors and they are doing 'great'.
