“The story picks up when Connect 3 lose their opening act for a major reunion tour, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing,” a Sept. 17 press release cited. “As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances.”Returning Cast and Fresh Faces
Maria Canals-Barrera comes back as Connie Torres, while fresh cast members Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, and Lumi Pollack join the franchise for the initial time. Joe Jonas, who starred in both Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the Vancouver, British Columbia set.In a Sept. 17 Instagram video, Joe comes in in a leather jacket, sunglasses, and a red-and-white T-shirt, stating, “I’m Shane Gray for crying out loud,” as the camera shows a dock named“Camp Rock 3.” He captioned the clip as, “Close enough. Welcome back Shane Gray.”
A follow-up post showed Joe, Nick, and Kevin recreating their legendary limo scene where Shane Gray is sent off to camp, with the caption, “Good morning campers.”
Demi Lovato’s Involvement
Although Demi will not return onscreen, she responded to the announcement on her Instagram Story, citing, “Another one but make it camp!! Good luck to this next class of campers.” She also hinted the possibility of another involvement in a Sept. 16 Watch What Happens Live episode:“I saw that Joe said something,” Demi, 33, said to host Andy Cohen. “And I’m really excited for the new generation to take the lead. And yeah, you’ll just have to wait and see.”

The original Camp Rock debuted on Disney Channel in 2008, introducing both Lovato and the Jonas Brothers to teen-idol position. Following the first film, they toured together, reuniting later in 2010 for Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. In the past 15 years, Camp Rock was one of Disney Channel’s most popular projects, emphasized by a recent hype in streaming when Lovato joined the Jonas Brothers on stage in New Jersey to perform “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.”Previous hints of the third film traced when Joe announced a script during an Aug. 12 Hot Ones Versus appearance, reading loudly from his phone, "Read Camp Rock 3.
