Singer FKA twigs has hit back after the UK authority decided to ban her Calvin Klein advertisement which was released lst year.

In response to UK officials, FKA twigs took to Instagram to express her thoughts on the banning of a Calvin Klein advertisement featuring her. The ban came as authorities claimed the ad portrayed the singer "as a stereotypical sexual object."

The Advertising Standards Authority in the UK declared its verdict on Wednesday following complaints asserting that the purportedly over-sexualized advertisement was deemed "offensive and irresponsible" for its alleged "objectification of women."


The 35-year-old singer wrote, "I do not see the ‘stereotypical sexual object’ that they have labelled (sic) me. i see a beautiful strong woman of colour whose incredible body has overcome more pain than you can imagine."

"in light of reviewing other campaigns past and current of this nature, i can’t help but feel there are some double standards here. so to be clear… i am proud of my physicality and hold the art i create with my vessel to the standards of women like josephine baker, eartha kitt and grace jones who broke down barriers of what it looks like to be empowered and harness a unique embodied sensuality," FKA twigs posted on Instagram.
