A 5-year-old boy in Calabasas, California, survived a mountain lion attack with the help of his mother. The boy named Jack Trexler was playing when a 65-pound mountain lion attacked him. However, his mother, Suzie Trexler, was close enough to lunge herself, according to a report.

According to boy's father Jay Trexler's statement issued on Thursday, the boy's mother charged the mountain lion, causing it to let go of her son and skitter away, the USA Today report said.

When and where did the attack happen?

Earlier on Tuesday, in San Francisco, 30 miles south in Half Moon Bay, where the family lives. After saving his son Jack, Suzie Trexler picked up the boy and rushed him to the hospital.


Jay Trexler lauded his wife the bravest woman. Trexler said that his wife's bravery saved the kid.

According to Jay Trexler, his son Jack has been treated for cuts and scratches on his face and all over his body. Jack suffered a fracture near his eye which may required surgery.

According to Jack's statement, On the same day, the boy was released from the hospital and recovering at home. Jay Trexler said that when his son recounted the story to him, the kid said a mountain lion had 'tackled' him.

However, the department search could not continue because the attack happened on private property, and the owners have denied access, department spokesman Patrick Foy said.
