Raleigh tied the game at 2-2 with a shot that just cleared the left-field fence off left-hander Brendon Little (0-1). The blast marked his fourth home run of the postseason, following a remarkable regular season in which he led the majors with 60 homers.
The win gave Seattle a 3-2 lead in the American League Championship Series. Suárez had earlier opened the scoring with a solo shot in the second inning, capping an outstanding night at the plate.
With the triumph, the Mariners became the first home team to win in the series and are now just one victory away from reaching their first-ever World Series since joining MLB in 1977. Game 6 is set for Sunday night in Toronto.
