Burning Man Festival 2022: Attendees stuck in 8-hour-long traffic congestion on Black Rock Desert road, pics go viral

The Nevada Desert became home to many people from across the world for the 9-day music and cultural festivities, and with it came the queues of traffic. Most people got stuck in an 8-hour-long traffic jam as many tried to leave the venue together.

The music festival was being held in Black Rock, and the vehicle queues occurred around that area with thousands of cars lined up. The Burning Man Festival received a fantastic response three years after the Covid lockdown.



The official Twitter handle of the organizers also acknowledged the queues and traffic snarl, advising people to hang on until the situation improved.



Photos of the long traffic jam went viral, and pictures from traffic police posted online gave a birds-eye view of the traffic tail. Pictures showed 15 lanes of cars moving slowly at a snail’s pace bumper to bumper.

The advice from the tweet organizers was to listen to 94.5 FM, a channel of Burning Man. The 'burners’ as the exit movement is called, got quite searing temperatures with the heatwave looming in the western parts of the USA along with the fuel crisis.

People came in weird costumes to party throughout the nine days. Burned an effigy at the end of the festivities called the Burning Man. The festival schedule included the Labour Day holidays. This Festival has been up and running since 1989.
