As the Bomb Cyclone, a severe winter storm, leaves thousands of people baffled in the US, 25 people have lost their lives in the city of Buffalo, New York.

The storm has created adverse effects across North America and left the city of Buffalo, New York, looking like a war zone.

New York State Governor Kathy Hochul said, the weather is in no less than a war with mother nature. There have been at least 50 fatalities nationally due to blizzard conditions that have spread from Canada to as far south as the Rio Grande.

The region around Buffalo is one of the worst affected areas. Governor Hochul, who is also a native of Buffalo said that the weather conditions have created a situation like a war zone and the vehicles along the road are shocking. Since many emergency vehicles were either unable to reach the worst-hit areas or became stranded in the snow itself, the governor claimed that citizens were in a "life-threatening situation."

A family with children had to wait for 11 hours before being rescued in the early hours of Christmas Day. Once the melting snow drifts, it is expected that there will be a rise in the number of victims who have been stuck due to the blizzard. However, melting snow drifts will also help in accessing remote houses.
