American football player, Damar Hamlin, has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours, as per his team.

The 24-year-old football player, who plays for Buffalo Bills, had suffered a cardiac arrest during a game. Although the team has spoken about the player's significant improvement, it also added that the player was still critically ill. However, Hamlin has shown that his neurological system is intact.

Moreover, the team added that his lungs continue to heal and overall, he is making progress.


Hamlin was admitted at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center since Monday evening after he suffered cardiac arrest during a match in Ohio city. He is still in intensive care.



One of his teammates, Kaiir Elam, tweeted regarding his health update. “Our boy is doing better, awake and showing more signs of improvement. Thank you God. Keep the prayers coming please. All love 3,” he wrote. The number 3 denotes Damar Hamlin’s jersey number.

The defensive back was hurt while making a tackle during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He slumped on the pitch and was given CPR for around 10 minutes.

In the incident, he ran into Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. Hamlin did not lose hope and further got to his feet, adjusted his helmet before touching the ground clumsily.

His heart had stopped but heartbeat was "restored" by medical staff on the pitch. His shirt was cut off to be given oxygen reportedly.

The NFL match was then suspended and later postponed. The Buffalo Bills will face the New England Patriots this weekend.
