Piloting the No. 23 car, Wallace secured victory in a dramatic Brickyard 400, overcoming a rain delay, two overtimes, fuel concerns, and intense pressure from defending champion Kyle Larson.
The win marks Wallace’s third career NASCAR Cup Series victory and his first in one of NASCAR’s four crown jewel races.
After a 100-race winless streak, Wallace’s triumph not only locked him into the playoffs but also delivered a major boost to 23XI Racing, co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin.
Despite Larson’s late push and a narrow final margin of 0.222 seconds, Wallace held firm through two restarts, determined to win straight up without pitting for fuel.
Elsewhere, Ty Gibbs won NASCAR’s inaugural In-Season Challenge - a single-elimination tournament - finishing 21st to clinch the $1 million prize and a championship belt. Ty Dillon, the underdog finalist, placed 28th.
The race was not without attrition. Tire issues derailed Austin Cindric and Joey Logano, while accidents took out Ross Chastain, Erik Jones, Austin Dillon, and others before Lap 100. Rain impacted strategy early, prompting aggressive racing ahead of the 18-minute delay.
Wallace’s emotional, trailblazing win etched another memorable chapter into Brickyard lore - one fueled by resilience, redemption, and history.
