BTS' V shares heartfelt message with fans as RM, Jungkook, and Jimin begin military service

Member of K-pop sensation BTS, V, has shared an heartwarming note for his fans as his fellow band members - RM, Jungkook and Jimin -begin their mandatory military service in South Korea.

Addressing the BTS "ARMY", V posted the emotional letter along with some photos on Korean social media app Weverse.

“I will miss you very much,” he captioned it. “Honestly, I regret I will not be able to make happy memories with ARMY for the time being. If it weren’t for that, it’s all fine, but that’s the most difficult. After these long 18 months I will return healthier, so please take care of your health ARMY and find happiness in the day to day. And ‘tada! I’m back’ — I will return.”


In South Korea, all physically capable males are required by law to undergo military service lasting 18-21 months. While certain exemptions may be granted to the nation's most prominent figures, all members of BTS are committed to fulfilling their service obligations.

Jin, the senior member of BTS at 31 years old, initiated his military service in the latter part of the previous year. Subsequently, j-hope, aged 29, and Suga, aged 30, commenced their enlistment earlier this year.

Jimin, aged 28, and Jungkook, aged 26, had plans to enlist simultaneously, whereas V, aged 27, and RM, aged 29, followed individual procedures for their enlistment, as communicated by the group's label, BigHit Music, in a Weverse post. The anticipation is for the group to reunite in 2025, once all seven members have completed their respective military service commitments.

“As we always say, let’s make more precious memories when we return,” V wrote. “I miss and truly love you all. Please wait until then! Will be back soon!
