BTS Jimin's album 'Face' hailed by Rolling Stone as 'compelling showcase'; fans ecstatic

Rolling Stone magazine has named FACE, the first solo album of BTS band member Park Jimin, as one of the best music albums of 2023. The Rolling Stone called the now solo artist’s album “a compelling showcase of the silky-voiced singer-dancer’s pop strengths."

When was FACE released?

FACE, BTS’ Park Jimin's debut solo album, was released on March 24, 2023. The album has five tracks – Like Crazy (Korean version), Like Crazy (English Version), Interlude: Dive, Alone, Set Me Free, and Letter. The album is a mix of hip-hop, R&B, and pop.

FACE was a chartbuster right from the word go. It debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and continued to be numero uno for four weeks in a row. Park Jimin became the first South Korean solo artist to sell over 1.5 million copies of FACE on Hanteo on the first day of release.

What inspired FACE?

Park Jimin’s episode of depression after the isolation in the 2020 pandemic has inspired the FACE album and his going solo as a singer-songwriter. Jimin’s first album speaks about loneliness, melancholy, and freedom.
