The Brookwood High School neighbourhood is the subject of an investigation by the Gwinnett County Police Department.
The soft lockdown at Brookwood High School has been confirmed by Gwinnett County Public Schools.
According to district policy, this indicates that regular teaching and learning will continue inside the school.
Brookwood High School, located in Gwinnett County, has been locked down. It has been noted that this is because of some police activity in the area.
It is mentioned that, apparently, they were worried about a member of the neighbourhood having a gun or other weapon.
There were more than a dozen police cars outside the school, and police officers were roaming the grounds. According to sources, officials were also inside the school inspecting the structures.
Principal Brett Savage said in a letter to parents that it was a "hard lockdown," and all students were adhering to the procedures they had previously practised. They would stay in this position until the all-clear was given.
The only statement made by the Gwinnett County Police Department was that they were collaborating with the school resource officers to examine the campus for any present danger. There was no credible threat, they continued.
The administration of the school is working with the parents if they wish to see their children, according to the police.
