According to her legal team, American basketball player Brittney Griner, who is now being held, has been transferred to a Russian correctional colony.
Griner's nine-year sentence dropped
A Russian court dropped Griner's nine-year sentence for drug possession last month. On November 4, she was sent out of the Iksha jail. Currently, she is enroute to an inmate settlement. However, her legal team is unaware of her particular location or intended destination.
Cannabis discovered in Griner's luggage
Griner, a centre for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), has won two gold medals at the Olympics. According to reports, police at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport discovered cannabis oil-filled vape cartridges in Griner's luggage.
