Bridgerton Season 6: Eloise Bridgerton is finally getting her story and Sir Phillip Crane is waiting

Eloise Bridgerton is finally moving closer to the centre of the ballroom. Writing work has started on Bridgerton Season 6. The early development reportedly focuses on Eloise and her long-awaited romantic story with Sir Phillip Crane.

Netflix has already renewed the hit period drama for a sixth season. The streaming service has not formally named its next lead. However, a revealing update from inside the writers’ room has given fans their strongest answer yet.

Eloise appears to be next, as per a report by What’s On Netflix.

Bridgerton Season 6 Writing Begins With Eloise in Focus

Fiona Kida, a writers’ assistant on Bridgerton, reportedly discussed the sixth season in a TikTok video. The post was later deleted. Copies of it soon began circulating on X.

“We’ve kicked off working on Eloise’s next season,” Kida said, according to What’s on Netflix. She explained that the team was rereading the books and reviewing where the series had left its characters.

The writers were in the “blue-sky” stage. Such an early phase allows the team to explore larger story ideas before individual scripts are completed.

Kida was also studying To Sir Phillip, With Love. She reportedly collected memorable lines from Julia Quinn’s novel and noted scenes that could work in the television adaptation.

Her comments suggest the creative team is now shaping Eloise Bridgerton’s main storyline. Finished scripts may still be some distance away, but the foundation is being built.

Eloise Bridgerton May Finally Get Her Own Love Story

Eloise has spent much of the series questioning marriage. She dislikes the pressure placed on young women in Regency society. Formal courtship has never interested her. Freedom has always looked more attractive than a husband.

Claudia Jessie’s character has changed over time, though. Her experiences with Theo Sharpe opened the door to romance. Her strained friendship with Penelope Featherington also forced her to confront her own assumptions.

A season centred on Eloise would need to protect the qualities viewers love about her. Marriage cannot suddenly become her only ambition. Her romance must feel like a choice rather than a surrender.

Sir Phillip could provide exactly that challenge.

Who Is Sir Phillip Crane in Bridgerton?

Sir Phillip Crane was introduced during the first season. Chris Fulton played the reserved botanist, although Netflix has not confirmed his return for Bridgerton Season 6.

Book readers know him as Eloise’s future romantic partner.

In To Sir Phillip, With Love, Eloise writes to Sir Phillip after the death of his wife, Marina Thompson. A simple message of condolence develops into a lengthy correspondence. Their relationship grows through letters. Sir Phillip eventually suggests marriage before the pair have properly met.

Eloise does not accept immediately. Curiosity soon wins. She secretly travels to his country estate and arrives without warning. The man behind the letters is not quite what she expected. Sir Phillip is withdrawn and often difficult. He is also raising two mischievous children who have no intention of making Eloise’s visit easy.

Season 5 Could Introduce the Eloise and Sir Phillip Letters

Bridgerton Season 5 will follow Francesca Bridgerton and Michaela Stirling. Netflix has confirmed that their season will arrive in 2027.

Eloise could still receive an important side story. Earlier seasons have quietly prepared the next sibling’s romance before handing them the lead. Season 5 may begin Eloise’s correspondence with Sir Phillip.

A letter could arrive during the closing episodes. One brief scene would connect Eloise to Phillip without pulling attention away from Francesca and Michaela.

Netflix has not confirmed such a moment. The idea remains a popular theory rather than an announced plot.

When Could Bridgerton Season 6 Reach Netflix?

No release date has been announced for Bridgerton Season 6. Season 5 is due in 2027. A faster production schedule could bring Eloise’s season to Netflix in 2028. A longer filming gap may push the premiere into 2029.

Writing has started early, which may help reduce the wait. For now, fans finally have the update they wanted. Eloise Bridgerton’s season is beginning to take shape.
