Mills Lane, a boxing legend, who rose to prominence first as a fighter, then as a referee, Washoe County attorney, and judge, died on Tuesday in Reno after spending the previous week in hospice. Lane was 85 at the time.
What exactly did his family say?
His son, Tommy Lane, informed a media outlet that Lane's overall situation deteriorated significantly and that he left quickly. Tommy also mentioned that Lane seemed relaxed and surrounded by his family.
When he died, his wife Kaye and kids Terry Lane and Tommy Lane were with him. Nobody knew how long Lane had, according to Tommy. They felt they were prepared for this the whole time, but there was no such thing as preparing for it.
Tommy Lane stated that they had spent the previous few days seeing some of their father's favourite movies, like "Somebody Up There Likes Me," "The Godfather," "Patton," and "Shane."
