Box office: ‘Sound of Freedom’ collects USD 45.6 million, pushes out ‘Red Door’

The box-office bells are ringing for Paramount/Skydance’s ‘Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One’ with an anticipated opening of USD 90 million in five days.

On the other hand, Angel Studios’ ‘Sound of Freedom’ collected an estimated amount of USD 4 million in one day-Monday. It opened on July 4 and went on to collect USD 45.6 million. ‘Red Door’ made an opening of USD 33 million, it collected USD 3.5 million Monday. ‘Indy’ opened with USD 27.4 million over the weekend.

Box-office pundits are surprised to find that an indie film ‘Sound of Freedom’, distributed by an indie person is breaking the box-office records. Its first-day collection was front-loaded with USD 14 million. But it suffered a meltdown on the second day, fell 70 percent, and reached USD 4 million.
