Several groups of civil rights protestors had planned a protest at Carolyn Bryant Donham’s apartment on Shive Lane and the Justice Center for getting Justice for Emmett Till. The protestors had made it clear that they would be armed in case they needed to defend themselves.

Law Enforcement Officials found this to be a potential threat to the general public. That is why Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Bowling Green Police posted a video to explain what the potential threat is and why they felt a need to cancel the much-awaited celebrations.

Sheriff Brett Hightower told the public that they received a tip that a group of people were planning to shoot anyone who was protesting. This could quickly turn ugly as the protestors themselves will be carrying weapons. He also mentioned that the validity of this threat has not yet been established.
