Bo Lueders death: The hardcore music community is mourning the loss of Bo Lueders, a founding member of Harm’s Way, who has died at the age of 38, as per a report.

Bo Lueders dies at 38: Harm’s Way Band’s emotional tribute and statement explained

The band shared the news on April 2 through a heartfelt social media statement, remembering Lueders not just for his role in the group, but for the kind of person he was.

The message says, “It is with heavy, broken hearts that we share that our beloved Bo Lueders has passed away. He will be remembered for his unwavering empathy and compassion for his friends & family and his magnetic, inimitable presence on & off the stage,” adding, "We kindly ask for grace and privacy as we navigate this extremely difficult time,” as quoted by Parade.


Alongside the announcement, the post included a message of support for those struggling, sharing the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline number and reminding people that help is always available, “For those struggling with depression or urges to self harm, help is always available. We’re not in this alone. Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: 988,” as quoted in the report.

Who was Harm’s Way founding member Bo Lueders

Lueders helped form Harm’s Way in Chicago in 2006, playing a key role in shaping the band’s sound over the years. The group went on to release five albums and several EPs, with their most recent album, Common Suffering, arriving in 2023.

Beyond music, Lueders was also part of the podcast space. In 2022, he co-launched HardLore alongside Colin Young of Twitching Tongues, creating a platform to share stories from the touring lives of musicians. The show featured voices from across punk, metal, hardcore and rock, including Freddy Cricien of Madball and Randy Blythe of Lamb of God, as per the Parade report.
