Blue wave in the nation: Goldman Sachs says Kamala Harris will win U.S Presidential Elections

Will last week's mayhem at the US stock markets, accompanied by a rise in unemployment data and inflation rate, hurt Kamala Harris? Will Donald Trump's rants of 'Make America Great Again' and 'America First' appeal to the voters?

Goldman Sachs says Kamala Harris will win U.S Presidential Elections
Investment bank Goldman Sachs has said in its report that presumed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris has created such momentum that she is likely to sweep the US presidential Election 2024. She has taken a lead of 3 percentage points nationally since President Joe Biden stepped aside and endorsed her last month. Kamala Harris has also improved her margins in the swing state of Pennsylvania which has 19 electoral votes and now her rival Donald Trump has a lead of only 0.2 percentage points. The financial service company has also predicted that while Harris may win the race for the White House, Democrats take the House of Representatives, and Republicans may maintain a majority in the Senate, reports 'Fortune'.

Third-party support falls

The investment banker has also said that after the Democratic National Convention is held next week in Chicago, the third-party support may fall further and it may boost the support base of Kamala Harris. After Joe Biden pulled out of the race and endorsed the vice president, the third-party support fell from 10% to 6%. The third-party candidates include Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Jill Stein, and Cornel West.

The Goldman Sachs analyst wrote that while third-party candidates had been drawing slightly more from Joe Biden earlier in the year, now it seems to be coming as much from former President Trump. Besides, after Kamala Harris joined the race, the percentage of undecided voters has come down significantly.

Will MAGA influence voters?

However, the Democrat contender may suffer due to the economic crisis that was reported last week after the stock market meltdown. The mayhem at the stock markets was accompanied by a rise in unemployment data and inflation rates. Economists believe the US economy may enter into a recession soon. Donald Trump's rants of 'Make America Great Again' and 'America First' may appeal to the voters at this juncture.
