BlockBerryCreative announces Chuu’s removal from LOONA, here's what happened

The news that Chuu has been expelled as a member of LOONA was posted on the group's official fan cafe on November 25, bringing the total number of members down to 11.

According to LOONA, the idol was removed from the group because she used "violent language and misuse of power towards our staff."

To yet, Chuu has not provided a reaction to the allegations that have been made.


As an original member of LOONA, Chuu made their debut in public in 2017. After the release of her self-titled single album in December 2017 as a part of the group's pre-debut plan, she made her debut with LOONA in August 2018.

Wikitree, a news outlet based in South Korea, dropped a bombshell allegation about Chuu in March, saying that the singer had sued her management company to stop her contract before being let go by LOONA. Wikitree claimed that the singer had sued her management company to have her contract stopped.

The star "partially" won the legal battle against the firm, as reported by the Korea JoongAng Daily.

It was decided "not to create issues with the group's development or cause anxiety to fans" by not responding to rumors about Chuu's engagement with the group, according to Blockberry Creative's statement on Chuu's dismissal.
