Blippi Franchise expands to Netflix with the Meekah Show, know release date here

Moonbug Entertainment plans to build its children's empire on Netflix, relying on the Blippi universe's potential.

When Candle Media, the Blackstone-backed multimedia conglomerate managed by Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs, paid $3 billion for Moonbug Entertainment last year, most of the focus was on Cocomelon.

The cartoon preschool series is one of YouTube's most popular channel owners, and its Netflix show is one of the streaming platform's most popular kids' shows. However, Moonbug, under new management, has been looking to grow as well, acquiring the Little Angel YouTube property early this year.


It is now starting with one of its brands, Blippi. Till then Netflix will be premiering the first show based in the universe of Blippi, and stars Meekah, a role essayed by Kaitlin Becker who was first introduced on the Blippi YouTube channel last year. Meekah will premiere on Netflix in English, Spanish, and Portuguese on December 1.



However, Moonbug's plan includes more than just the show on Netflix. The organisation had released a musical album with 20-track branded and is working on Meekah-themed merchandise. A Meekah YouTube channel launched in the spring has quietly amassed 500,000 subscribers, and an upcoming Blippi live tour will feature Meekah in a starring role. It's all part of a campaign to amass a powerful intellectual property library in the children's entertainment industry, where success may pay benefits for decades.
