‘Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War’ Episode 8 Released: Know who claims the title of ‘Lynchpin of Existence’

One of the most popular anime series on the 2022 Fall anime broadcasting schedule is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War (Bleach TYBW). If the MyAnimeList rankings are to be believed, the series is currently the highest-rated of all time. The series contains an important figure called the 'Soul King' also known as the 'Lynchpin of Existence'.

Who is 'Soul King'?

Known as the god of this universe, the Soul King is referred to as the way of the world. He is described as one of the most enigmatic deities. The main work of the Soul King was to maintain balance. However, the 'Lynchpin of Existence' had a tuff with Yhwach and his followers. Soon anime lovers will be enlightened about the Soul King in the Bleach TYBW.

The Soul King will be seen in the series and will have a major responsibility of stabilizing the soul flow between various worlds. The world would collapse without him, so it is necessary to protect him. Life and death would lose their meaning in that scenario.


Many years ago, the body of the Soul King was sealed through unknown means. Though the Soul King never intervened in the Shinigami's affairs, he still plays a pivotal role in their culture.

Who protects the Soul King?

Five extremely powerful Shinigami in the Bleach TYBW anime are responsible for protecting the Soul King. These five figures contribute a major amount to Soul Society and stay in the Soul Palace.
