Blake Shelton announces departure from 'The Voice'
The singing competition program's viewers were startled to learn that Blake Shelton would leave after the upcoming 23rd season of "The Voice."

The country music icon said in a statement on Tuesday that the season airing in the spring of 2023 will be his last.
He appears to have been contemplating this for some time before deciding that Season 23 of "The Voice" was the right time for him to leave. He joked about the fact that two weekly live events require a lot of "adult beverages."
He talked about the lifetime friendships he had developed with Carson and all of his other trainers throughout the seasons, including his love, Gwen Stefani!
Since the series' debut in 2011, when Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and CeeLo Green served as its coaches, the singer of "Neon Light" has also served as a coach.
As the show's host, Carson Daly has travelled with Shelton the entire way. According to the press release, Daly will also be back for Season 23.
According to the press release, Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan, two new coaches, will work with Shelton and Clarkson in the upcoming season.
