Blake Lively calls it an “intense year” while recalling “highs and lows” amid Justin Baldoni legal battle

Hollywood couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have remained in the spotlight for several months now due to their ongoing legal battle against her It Ends with Us co-star and the romantic drama film's director Justin Baldoni.

Without going into in-depth details, Lively on Thursday, May 1, talked about the "intense year" she has been through so far, during an appearance on the chat show Late Night With Seth Meyers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

On the latest episode of the show, the 37-year-old was asked about the “intense year” that she has had without getting too much into the lawsuit.


Lively told the host that 2025 has been "full of the highest of highs" as well as "lowest of lows" in her life so far, while she avoided talking about the case too much.

The Gossip Girl alum claimed that she gets to see "so many women," who are afraid to speak up, especially in today's scenario. She asserted that these women feel afraid in sharing their experiences, adding that the "fear is by design". This is what, according to her, keeps them "silent".

At the same time, Lively acknowledged on the chat show that there were several people out there who failed to get the opportunity to speak up about things. She considers herself "fortunate" enough to have been able to do so.

Lively stated that all these women had the ability to use their voice, noting that this kept her strong.

She went on to mention that this has aided her fight for the "world to be safer for women and girls."

Blake Lively talks about family time

She appeared on the show to promote her latest film, Another Simple Favor.

Divulging on her family time, Lively especially mentioned that she has her "best" time with her four children.

Lively said that there is "no surprise" that 2025 has been a "pretty intense year" for her.

Speaking about her four kids, she termed them as her "lifeline". She quipped that it does not matter what kind of a day she is having, since she has to be "Disneyland every day for them," calling it "the best".

Lively vs Baldoni legal battle

In December last year, Lively made headlines when she lodged a sexual harassment complaint against the actor-filmmaker, besides even alleging a coordinated effort by Baldoni and his team to destroy her reputation.

Since then, the It Ends With Us director has countersued her and others, alleging extortion and defamation in the infamous legal battle.
