Blackpink: Why was Lisa's account on Weibo blocked after Paris cabaret show

Blackpink member Lisa's presence on the Chinese social media platform Weibo was blocked, citing violations of community standards and regulations. This development comes in the wake of speculations surrounding her appearances at the renowned Crazy Horse nightclub in Paris.

The notice on Lisa's Weibo account stated that it had received complaints, citing violations of laws, regulations, and Weibo community agreement. Many have linked this action to her recent performances at the risqué cabaret venue, where dancers are known to perform in minimal attire, often obscured by light and shadow.

Lisa's fellow Blackpink members, Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé, who did not participate in the Crazy Horse performances, still have access to their accounts on the platform.


While some fans and social media users in China expressed concerns over the potentially explicit nature of Lisa's shows, others welcomed the Weibo account block as a positive step in internet regulation. One comment on Weibo, garnering over 2,000 likes, remarked, "Finally our 'clean up internet operation' is working."

Lisa's username on Weibo, "lalalalisa_m," has also been changed to "user7330454276," and her follower's list, which previously stood at eight million, has disappeared.

Additionally, her Baidu fan club account appears to have faced suspension, suggesting a broader impact on her online presence.

Chinese actresses Angelababy and Zhang Jiani, who reportedly attended Lisa's Paris shows in late September, have witnessed restrictions on their social media accounts. Crazy Horse Paris has clarified that Angelababy did not attend Lisa's performances.

The situation surrounding Zhang's account remains unclear, with her team expressing uncertainty regarding the restrictions imposed.
