Donald Trump's US election 2024 campaign has received a major boost as Black male celebrities have publicly announced their support for Donald Trump, reports Fox News. Amongst those who have come forward to back the Republican Presidential candidate include rapper Kodak Black, former NFL player Antonio Brown, and boxing legend Mike Tyson. Their public support comes as VP Kamala Harris is fighting hard to preserve the Black male vote, which has ever been the bedrock of the Democratic Party.

New Polls Show Harris Slipping in Amongst Black Men

Recent opinion polls indicate Harris has slipped significantly with Black men. In a New York Times/Siena College poll, now only 70 per cent of Black men say they support Harris, down from the 85 per cent who said they backed Joe Biden in 2020. Black male celebrities such as rapper Lord Jamar, who lambasted Harris but lauded Trump's approach to leadership, reflect that trend.

In addition, the rapper Kodak Black, pardoned by Trump in 2021, has been a regular attendee at Trump rallies even though he was critical of some of the remarks of the GOP nominee. Other former NFL players, including Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell, have also made public appearances for rallies that urge voters to favor Trump. Brown is perhaps the most vocal.

This shows that this shift in celebrity endorsement aligns itself with a larger trend of the Black male. 25 percent of respondents under 50 said they might vote for Trump, according to an NAACP survey. As Harris's voting support is crumbling within her most important electorate, Trump's pandering activities appear to remind everyone involved that her labor of love will be undercut by the highest competition because the Democratic campaign is about to get underway.
