Verdi, the German union lead, demanded a collective agreement on conducive working conditions. On the contrary, the French leader focused on increasing cash bonuses before Christmas, as Amazon workers or employees have to work overtime at warehouses. The motto of the union leads is to recognize the employees' efforts and collective bargaining agreements in both the mail and retail trading sectors.
The spokesperson of Amazon Germany stated that the tech giant provides exceptional opportunities, perks, and decent pay to its workers, along with safe and attractive work culture. Among other things, the German spokesperson also focused on a wage increase in Germany from September at the Amazon logistics team. The spokesperson also disclosed the wages, which are 13.52 dollars per hour, including a bonus.
But on Friday morning, many of the German employees declared strike action. In comparison, Amazon France just disrupted operations now. The two French unions pointed out a sudden rise in the cost of living, so they are expecting a small turnout but overtime fees.
