Road House's remake on the cards. Check out the cast!

The reboot of Road House is happening. Jake Gyllenhaal will star in the movie, which will be inspired by 1989 classic.

The reboot of Road House, the cult classic, has been confirmed. It is going ahead with full steam on Amazon Prime Video. Jake Gyllenhaal will be the leading actor and play the role of a former UFC fighter, who later turns into a bouncer at a roadhouse bar in the Florida Keys.

Once he becomes the bar's bouncer, he realises something sinister is happening in the local community behind the scenes. Billy Magnussen, the No Time To Die actor, will also star in the movie. Another actor to join the cast of the cult classic reboot is Daniela Melchoir of The Suicide Squad.

The cast of the Road House reboot includes Dominique Columbus, B.K. Cannon, Travis Vann Winkle, Arturo Castro, Hannah Love Lanier, Gbemisola Ikumelo and Lukas Gage. After previously directing Edge of Tomorrow and The Bourne Identity, Doug Liman will direct the movie. He said that he is thrilled with the opportunity to put his spin on the cult classic.

He added that he could not wait for the audience to see what he and Jake would do with this opportunity and the iconic role.

Anthony Bagarozzi of The Nice Guys and Charles Mondry of Jekyll will be writing the script for the movie.

The original movie had Patrick Swayze in the lead role. The reboot will be a reimagining of the 1989 movie. The movie followed a bouncer at a roadside bar and his attempts to protect the small town from business people and corrupt activities.

Ben Gazzara, Kelly Lynch and Sam Elliot starred in the original movie. There are already some changes in the script of the new version. The story will be uprooted to Florida from Missouri. Jake Gyllenhaal's character will be a former UFC fighter.

The Swayze version of the character was a bit mysterious.
