Murray II and Lucille Murray in Wilmette, Illinois, the siblings grew up developing their comedic talents at the family dinner table and working at a local country club, experiences that later inspired Bill’s iconic film Caddyshack.

The Blood Brothers were formed in 2002 by guitarists Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia. The band was later booked by Murray’s brother, John, to perform at the annual Murray Brothers’ Caddyshack Golf Tournament, named after Bill’s 1980 hit film. During the performance, Murray spontaneously joined them on stage when they started playing a song by one of his favorite bands, the Rascals.

Murray has remained a full-time member ever since, adding his distinctive vocals to the nine-piece band.

"This band is made up of all-stars," said Murray in an October 2025 interview with the Boston Herald. "Each of them brings a different energy, which makes me really have to dig in. I enjoy the challenge each night and am thankful they keep it coming."

The star-studded lineup also features Lauren Alaina, Ne-Yo, The War and Treaty, and Trace Adkins, with replays available the following day on Peacock.
