Shortly after the company disclosed a $1.25 billion Bitcoin purchase, its executive chairman posted a screenshot from the StrategyTracker website highlighting Bitcoin’s price and the timing of Strategy’s acquisitions, as per a report.

The post, captioned “Bigger Orange,” echoed Saylor’s familiar style of hinting at further purchases, with no indication so far that the buying pace will slow in 2026.

Strategy Opens 2026 With Major Bitcoin Accumulation

Strategy began the year with aggressive accumulation. On January 4, the company acquired 1,283 BTC for $115.97 million, followed by a much larger purchase of 13,627 BTC for $1.25 billion on January 11. In total, Strategy has added 14,910 BTC since the start of 2026, as per a CoinCodex report.

Strategy’s Bitcoin Holdings Remain in Profit

According to StrategyTracker, the firm now holds 687,410 BTC at an average purchase price of $75,353 per coin, making its reserves profitable with Bitcoin trading around $92,300.

Strategy Stock (MSTR) Slides Despite Growing Bitcoin Holdings

Despite its growing Bitcoin position, Strategy’s stock has struggled, falling about 52.67% over the past year and closing at $173.71 on January 16.

The company continues to fund its Bitcoin strategy through methods such as short-term convertible bond sales. Strategy Controls Over 3% of Total Bitcoin Supply

Strategy’s holdings now represent roughly 3.3% of Bitcoin’s total supply, a concentration that has drawn comparisons to past commodity market episodes. As its buying patterns become more predictable, traders are positioning ahead of announcements, increasing short-term volatility and reinforcing Strategy’s role as a leveraged proxy for Bitcoin, as per the CoinCodex report.
