Silicon Valley millionaires might enjoy immense federal authority as the Donald Trump administration is all set to bring in major technology friendly policies to their benefit.

It is being apprehended that the Trump government will mostly break away from traditional corporate welfare, pledging allegiance to tech entrepreneurs who work and have established massive empires in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and crypto. This shift is apparently being fuelled by Trump’s “America First” policy, where he has set the target to take the lead over China in asserting US dominance over technological prowess.

Billionaire Elon Musk’s close proximity to President Trump was the first indication of the President-elect’s willingness to further a neo-tech agenda. Musk has been given the responsibility, along with Vivek Ramaswamy, to head the the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which will work towards cutting wasteful government spending and reducing budget deficits. Musk, the founder of new-gen technology firms like SpaceX, Neuralink and Starlink, is touted to be the 'world’s second most powerful person' after Trump takes office in January, according to an Axios report.

Is Donald Trump appointing David Sacks in his administration?

Trump has also tapped venture capitalist David Sacks to assume the new post of White House AI and Crypto ‘czar’, and has said that with this nomination his administration aims to be a global leader in the two said fields. Sacks had earlier served as the CEO of the social networking platform Yammer, while his most known position was that of being the COO of Elon Musk’s fintech giant PayPal.

NASA is also set to be headed by tech billionaire and former astronaut Jared Issacman, who is a partner to Musk in SpaceX. Internet mogul Marc Andreessen is said to be interviewing potential candidates for positions at the Pentagon and State Department. PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel has also been nominated by the President-elect to be deputy HHS secretary.

Is the tech fraternity happy about Donald Trump's upcoming Presidency?

The whole tech fraternity might benefit from Trump’s policies as the administration might be eyeing alternative new generation technologies in defence, health, oil and gas and finance. At the Aspen Security Forum last week, Vivek Ramaswamy said that the wants the Department of Defence to “move away” from legacy programs and invest more in new ones. This involved the development of next-gen drones and hypersonic missiles, which have the capacity to put the US way ahead in the global arms race. Modernizing patient and veteran records for the HHS and Department of Veterans Affairs is also a priority for the Trump administration.
