Bezos to buy Vogue as a gift to new wife? Insiders link deal to Sanchez’s cover shoot, could cost him billions
Buzz surrounds Jeff Bezos possibly acquiring Condé Nast. This comes amid Lauren Sanchez's Vogue cover and Anna Wintour's departure. Insiders suspect a significant deal is brewing. The Newhouse family maintains Condé Nast isn't for sale. However, l...

Insiders say Jeff Bezos may be considering buying Vogue's parent company, Condé Nast, as a lavish gift for his wife, Lauren Sanchez. Jeff Bezos may soon own the fashion "bible," Vogue, as per a report by The Daily Mail.
Why are insiders suspicious about Lauren Sanchez’s Vogue cover?
Many think it's no accident that the new Mrs. Bezos appears on the cover of this month's digital edition of Vogue, donning a wedding gown hand-picked by Dame Anna Wintour from Dolce & Gabbana, as per a report by She Knows.
After 37 years in the position, Dame Anna announced last month that she was leaving her position as Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, although she still retains control over the company's worldwide operations.
Is Condé Nast quietly prepping for a sale?
Condé Nast has been privately held by the Newhouse family since 1959 under their media conglomerate Advance Publications, and they maintain that their titles are not for sale.
However, not everyone is persuaded, as a recent wave of worldwide layoffs and UK employees now work from an uninspired WeWork space close to Waterloo station after Vogue's Hanover Square headquarters was sold.
"Everyone in the fashion industry and inside Vogue is talking about the rumor that Jeff is going to buy Condé Nast," a source told The Mail on Sunday. According to rumors, Lauren Sanchez, who is such an unlikely cover star, was chosen for the July issue in part because the Newhouse family wanted to flatter Bezos.
Condé Nast is worth $5 billion, according to The Hollywood Reporter, so Bezos will need to pay a significant amount to close the deal.
However, a person close to Jeff Bezos claimed that the rumor that he was thinking of purchasing Condé Nast was "totally untrue," as per a report by the Daily Mail.

What’s Anna Wintour’s role in all of this?
The Daily Mail's source maintains that former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is spearheading the sale, despite a source close to Bezos calling the rumors "totally untrue."
The source of the longtime executive who announced her resignation from the position in June claimed that Lauren was featured on the cover because "Anna is said to be the one brokering the deal."
Anna Wintour will continue to serve as Condé Nast's chief content officer and the magazine's global editorial director, as per a report by She Knows.
