In a recent development it has been known that several high tech thieves are nowadays using AI to create several kinds of deepfakes of Elon Musk while eventually scamming millions of US citizens.

Deepfake scams are on the rise in the US, with Deloitte estimating that AI-generated content contributed to over $12 billion in fraud losses last year while potentially reaching $40 billion by the year 2027, noted CBS News. The Federal Trade Commission and Better Business Bureau have both issued warnings about these scams, which often exploit celebrities like Elon Musk due to their public visibility and wealth.
Several experts have highlighted the increasing ease of creating deepfakes which requires only a single image and a video clip. CBS News asserted that while some deepfakes are easier to detect due to unnatural movements or inconsistencies, advancements in technology make them increasingly convincing.
