Bernie Parent death: Philadelphia Flyers legend and two-time Stanley Cup champion dies

The Philadelphia Flyers and Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education announced the death of Bernie Parent, the Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender who delivered two Stanley Cup championships to the organization.

Bernard Marcel Parent was an original Philadelphia Flyers player who became synonymous with the franchise's early success during the 1970s.

Parent led the Philadelphia Flyers to Stanley Cup championships in 1974 and 1975. His playoff performances in both championship runs culminated in shutout victories during the clinching games of each series, earning him consecutive Conn Smythe Trophy awards as the Most Valuable Player of the playoffs.
