The renowned zoo in Germany has temporarily halted all visitor services in response to the news that emerged on Friday indicating that one of the zoo's aquatic birds had tested positive for the flu.

The previous week's autopsy revealed that a medium-sized wading bird, known as Hamerkop, had tested positive for Avian flu.

According to a statement released by the zoo, the "precautionary action" being considered now is closing the zoo. During this time, the keepers are working very hard to isolate and separate the remaining groupings of bird species.

In recent weeks, cases of avian influenza have been confirmed in zoos located in several German cities, including Greifswald, Karlsruhe, Rostock, and Heidelberg.
