Benny Blanco revealed a sparkling plan that he intends to utilize the extra diamonds from Selena Gomez's engagement ring. After being engaged late last year, the pair took part in their first-ever joint interview for the magazine's March 2025 edition. The pair discussed the process of creating her marquise diamond sparkler in the interview.

In their first interview together, the couple talked candidly about the sparkler to 'Interview' magazine. In what many fans thought was a reference to Gomez's song "Good for You," in which she sings, "I'm a marquise diamond," Blanco proposed to her with a rock that featured a stunning marquise diamond set on an eternity band, according to People.

"That's the diamond she has always dreamed of since the 'Good for You' days, that was, gosh, so many years ago," Gomez said. Blanco asserted that all he did was try not to mess up.


Selena Gomez acknowledged that she wasn't anal about the appearance of her ring in the run-up to the big event. But her fiancé, a music producer, acknowledged that she changed her mind once, as quoted in a report by People.

What will happen to the extra diamonds?

Blanco acknowledged that he would always give subtle clues when she showed him designs. Halfway through, she decided to change her mind. According to Blanco, Gomez didn't "want something that big," so the "huge baguettes" on the side of the original ring were eventually taken out.

The gemstones won't be wasted, though. For her, they will create earrings. Blanco remarked, "She essentially has three wedding rings."

Blanco and Gomez discussed how they like to organize their date-night attire when they announced their relationship in December 2023. They asserted that they enjoy dressing up for a date.

Although they always love to coordinate their outfits, they will never style each other but sometimes ask their partner to pick them out. Gomez said she would wear what she wants to wear, regardless of whether he hates her outfit, as per a report.
