BBC radio presenter and legendary broadcaster Steve Wright has passed away at the age of 69 years.
Wright has hosted BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2 shows for over four decades and last went on air hosting a Valentine's show which is pre-recorded on Sunday as per BBC. He has passed away on Monday.

His family after paying tributes, has stated that it is with immense grief and intense remorse that the death of much adored Steve Wright is being announced.


His family also stated that besides Tom, his son, and Lucy, his daughter, Steve is leaving behind Laurence, his brother, and Richard, his father. And beloved colleagues and close friends as well as millions of dedicated radio listeners have the good fate and considerable delight of permitting Steve into the everyday lives as one of the most persistent and renowned radio personalities.

The heads at the BBC have also offered praise with the director of music, Lorna Clarke elaborating Wright as an exceptional broadcaster, somebody that audiences have loved with many of them looking up to him.

She said that Steve was an exceptional broadcaster, he was warm, amusing, and a big part of the Radio 2 family, and that his DJs will all be greatly devastated too.
