Barcelona's Joan Laporta says club will request El Clasico rematch if Yamal's goal is deemed legal
La Liga's most iconic team, Barcelona's leadership has called for a replay of the El Clasico showdown between Real Madrid and Barcelona that took place recently in the case Yamal's goal is deemed legal.

According to Sky Sports, the incident joins the list of issues around the fact that La Liga officials have decided not to implement the goal-line technology in the game and still going ahead with the video-assistant referee (VAR) method. The VAR method has often proved useful, having reduced the number of fouls, and offsides and even curbed unfair play to an extent, but is still a primitive technology compared to goal-line technology, which is state-of-the-art and is implemented by major sporting leagues and even international cups.
However, La Liga has refrained from implementing it, the reasons best known to the officials, but the issue is brewing hot as Barca President Joan Laporta called upon the Spanish Football Federation, the organizers of La Liga, to reschedule the El Clasico showdown in the case Barca's right winger Lamine Yamal's goal is deemed legal.
In the encounter that happened previously, Barcelona went down 3-2 against Real Madrid when VAR technology disallowed Yamal's 'phantom' goal in the 28th minute. This incident also irked Xavi Hernandez, the head coach of FC Barcelona who was critical of the fact that La Liga officials are still not implementing goal-line technology in such pivotal games, which are very crucial to Barca's global calendar.
According to reports, La Liga is the only top-five league that does not implement the latest goal-line technology that shows some real-time inputs on the ball, whether or not it has crossed the goal line. Upon a social media uproar around not implementing this technology by thousands of Barca fans, La Liga chief Javier Tebas refrained from issuing any comment, but rather shared instances when the goal-line technology was shown to be inaccurate, says Sky Sports.
