Barcelona wants Messi back in team, ready to do 'everything possible,' says President Joan Laporta
Barcelona President Joan Laporta has spoken about trying to have Lionel Messi back in the team.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi is expected to depart from the club when his contract expires in the upcoming summer. Despite the strong interest from Saudi Arabia, new La Liga champions Barcelona are hopeful to attract back their all-time top goal-scorer, who has had two unremarkable seasons in Paris after a magnificent era at Barcelona. Messi's tenure at Barcelona, where he won four Champions League and 10 La Liga titles, is still cherished by the fans of the club.
According to Laporta, he has had discussions with Messi in an attempt to repair their relationship, which was strained when Messi departed from Barcelona in 2021. Despite his desire to remain with Barcelona, the club was unable to retain Messi due to their financial predicament, which includes a debt of more than one billion euros ($1.1 billion).
Joan Laporta further told media that he has spoken to Lionel Messi to "somehow redirect a situation" where he had to put the club ahead of everything including Messi, whom he refers to as the "best player in the world."
After Barcelona won La Liga, Laporta expressed on Twitch that they would do "everything possible to sign Messi" back. However, in a TV3 interview, Laporta was more cautious and refrained from discussing Messi's transfer due to his current affiliation with Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite reports suggesting that Messi has already agreed to move to Saudi Arabia next season for 400 million dollars, Laporta believes that Barcelona can compete to re-sign Messi since Barca is his home.
