Barbie releases Tina Turner doll on 40th anniversary of 'What's Love Got To Do With It'
The new Tina Turner doll, which continues the release of other Barbie Signature Music Series dolls like Gloria Estefan and David Bowie, pays tribute to the legacy of the artist known as the "Queen of Rock and Roll".

Tina Turner's fifth studio album, Private Dancer, was released forty years ago and contains her most well-known song, "What's Love Got to Do With It." The doll's release corresponds with the first performance of this song, which took place simultaneously.
This song propelled the native of Nutbush, Tennessee, to the number one spot on the Hot 100 chart at the age of 44, making her the oldest solo female artist ever to achieve this feat. The movie about Turner's life, starring Angela Bassett and given the same name as the song, was released in 1993.
A microphone, pearl-like drop earrings, the performer's characteristic red lipstick, and matching nail polish are all included with the doll.
In the music video for the song that won Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 1985 Grammy Awards, Tina Turner may be seen wearing a short black dress and a denim jacket.
