Bambi: The Reckoning- 'Prepare for Bambi on rabies' in new horror movie

Director Scott Jeffrey said: “The film will be an incredibly dark retelling of the 1928 story we all know and love. Finding inspiration from the design used in Netflix’s The Ritual, Bambi will be a vicious killing machine that lurks in the wilderness. Prepare for Bambi on rabies!”
Rhys is also the director of the upcoming movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, which has been in the midst of a controversy ever since it was announced. The terrifying reimagining of Winnie the Pooh is all set to hit theatres on February 15, 2023. The movie will show Winnie and Piglet as brutal serial killers after Christopher Robin abandons them.
The internet has gone berserk after Rhys made the announcement about Bambi’s new rendition. Some people lashed out at Rhys, stating that he had already ruined Pooh and was now set to ruin another innocent Disney character. A few netizens also suggested the filmmaker should make an original horror story instead of ruining old children’s characters.
Bambi was made a publicly available character in 2016, allowing filmmakers to reimagine the young deer however they liked. Talking about the new take on the adorable children’s character, producer Scott Jeffrey said that Bambi: The Reckoning would be an extremely dark version of the popular story.
He added that the movie would be inspired by the Netflix film The Ritual (2017), and Bambi would be portrayed as a killing machine.
