Avowed: See release date, early access, platforms, Xbox game pass and gameplay

Avowed is an upcoming RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment. The game takes place in the Eora universe, known from the Pillars of Eternity series. Release Date and Early Access

Avowed will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game will be available through Steam, the Xbox app and Battle.net.

A PlayStation release is uncertain. Microsoft has published other games on PlayStation, such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and The Outer Worlds 2. Future availability on PlayStation remains a possibility.

Xbox Game Pass

Avowed will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Subscribers can play the game at no extra cost from February 18. The Premium Edition upgrade costs $22.49/£17.99 for Game Pass subscribers, allowing early access from February 13.

Gameplay

Avowed takes place in Eora, the world from the Pillars of Eternity series. Players control an envoy from the Aedyr Empire, investigating the Dreamscourge plague.

Combat includes magic, swords and guns. Each weapon offers a unique experience. Players can mix weapons and magic through a loadout system. The game features character creation, but only humans and elves are playable.

The world consists of smaller biomes, similar to The Outer Worlds. Players will meet various companions, such as a former mercenary and a wizard. Romance is not included, with a focus on platonic relationships. The dialogue system allows choices that impact the game’s world.
