'Avatar: The Way of Water' expected to have $17 million opening on Thursday

After more than a decade of making fans wait, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ will hit the theatres on December 16. Here’s what we know about the much-awaited movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Avatar 2’ is one of the most expensive movies of all time. It cost about $350-$400 million!

According to a new AMC Theatres listing, ‘Avatar 2’ maybe 3 hours long (192 minutes). The original ‘Avatar’ was 2 hours and 42 minutes.

Humans of ‘Avatar’ universe are not very humane… in the trailer, it is hinted that, unlike the first movie where they were just fishing for unobtainium, a rare mineral, this time around the ‘Sky People’ (humans) intend to colonise Pandora, as the earth has become inhabitable.

Gear up for a thrilling underwater adventure! The trailer gave us a glimpse into aquatic animals, huge whale-like creatures called tulkuns.

In ‘Avatar 2’ Jake and Neytiri have settled into domestic bliss. They have five children - Neteyam, Lo’ak, Tuktirey, Kiri, and a human and an adopted child Spider.

‘Way of The Water’ marks the reunion of Kate Winslet and James Cameron, 25 years after the 1997 blockbuster ‘Titanic’. Winslet will essay the role of Ronal, a chieftainess from the clan called Metkayina. The Metkayinas are a warrior Na’avi species residing in the oceanic reefs. Her character will reportedly have a shadow with Neytiri . (played by Zoe Saldana)

With this stunt, Winslet broke Tom Cruise’s record! Cruise held his breath underwater for six minutes while shooting celebs who could hold their breath longest underwater when shooting for ‘Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation in 2015’.
